This Saturday, April 22 was the 2017 San Francisco Mandarin Speech Contest sponsored by the Chinese Language Teachers Association of California (CLTAC).

As always, INTL* students took top honors in the the most competitive Full Immersion category that includes peer schools like Chinese American International School. All of our students did a great job and we were proud to have them representing INTL. Congratulations to all the winners!

This was the contest's forty-second year, and INTL students in grades 3-8 participated.

First Place Winners: Julian F. (3rd grade), Emily C. (5th grade), Lowell K. (6th grade), Charlotte F. (7th grade)

Second Place Winners: Oona M. (3rd grade), Zoe L. (4th grade), Kasper H. (5th grade), Alessandra D. (6th grade)

Honorable Mention: Isabella M. (3rd grade), Kevin Y. (5th grade), Chloe T. (5th grade), Victoria C. (6th grade), Christine H. (7th grade), Nicholas M. (8th grade)

Note: the contest has been decreasing in size for the past few years, so most categories only had 1st and 2nd place winners (no 3rd place). The contest policy is that any category with less than 10 students only has 1st and 2nd place winners.

This year's INTL Speech Team included students who were selected from grades 3 through 8 by a committee of teachers.  We are proud of all of them for their great work!
