INTL Students Shine in the Global Kangaroo Math Competition

Silicon Valley International School’s (INTL) focus on academic depth and rigor instills in our students the confidence to successfully solve challenging problems.

Each year, INTL’s Upper Elementary School and Middle School students across language programs participate in the Annual Kangaroo Math Competition along with 6 million participants from over 70 countries.

Whether it is 袋鼠數學 in China, le Kangourou des mathématiques in France, or Känguru der Mathematik in Germany, the competition is known for its challenging and thought-provoking problems that emphasize logical thinking, with schools from over 90 countries participating in the competition. The results of our students were outstanding!

Kangaroo TwoAs an example, out of 62,000 students that participated worldwide, 45% of our 6th Grade students ranked among the top 1% of participants.

6th Grade student, Yohann A-P., was among the top 10 finalists during the first round of testing. He traveled to Paris for the final round, and won the entire competition for his grade level! This is a tremendous international accomplishment and we congratulate Yohann on his skills, tenacity, and hard work!
