Silicon Valley International School (INTL) recently hosted its annual Arts Night, an event that transformed our two campuses into vibrant celebrations of creativity, imagination, and community spirit. This year’s theme, “Beauty of Nature,” invited students to explore the world around them and express it through a wide range of artistic media. The results were enchanting experiences that felt nothing short of magical.
For the first time in the school’s history, this year’s Arts Night was celebrated through two separate events. The first event, hosted on our Willows Campus, was dedicated to our Early Years students, giving our youngest artists their own special moment to shine. The Willows’ gym was transformed into a charming gallery filled with colorful artwork, each piece reflecting the students’ curiosity, imagination, and growing appreciation for art.
In addition to the exhibit, families were invited to enjoy an interactive art-making space where parents and children could color, paint, and create together. This hands-on area quickly became a highlight of the evening, offering a warm and joyful opportunity for families to bond through creativity.
From the moment guests arrived for the Cohn Campus event, they were immersed in a nature-inspired wonderland. The entrance featured towering animal sculptures, including a striking giraffe that immediately drew the eye, as well as a stunning handmade tree that stood proudly as a centerpiece. Two beautifully-crafted backdrop displays welcomed families and set the tone for the night, inviting everyone to step into a space where art, nature, and creativity blended seamlessly.
As parents, students, teachers, and alumni walked through the hallways and classrooms, they were met with an astounding variety of artwork. Every corner of the school showcased student pieces that captured the essence of the natural world, deepsea environment, intricate animal designs and portraits, sweeping landscapes, and abstract interpretations of environmental beauty. The thematic decorations throughout the building brought the displays to life, making the entire campus feel like a professional gallery dedicated to celebrating the planet and its creatures.
One of the most heartwarming aspects of the evening was watching students proudly present their work to their families. Many eagerly guided their parents from piece to piece, explaining their inspirations, techniques, and artistic journeys. The joy and sense of accomplishment on their faces highlighted what Arts Night is truly about, not just the final creations, but the growth, learning, and self-expression behind each project.
Teachers, too, were moved by what their students accomplished. Months of preparation, brainstorming, and collaboration culminated in a night that showcased not only artistic talent but also dedication, teamwork, and the spirit of the school community. Parents shared their admiration throughout the evening, expressing amazement at both the creativity on display and the effort that clearly went into transforming the school environment.
The event held special meaning for alumni and alumni families who returned to relive the magic. Their presence added an extra layer of warmth to the evening, reminding everyone that Arts Night is more than an annual showcase, it is a tradition that connects past and present members of the school community.
This year’s Arts Night was truly a celebration of imagination, nature, and the collective effort of countless individuals. A heartfelt thank-you goes out to everyone who contributed, from the teachers and staff who spent months planning, to the volunteers, parents, and alumni parents who worked amazingly behind the scenes, to the families and guests who came to support our young artists. And an extra special thank-you to our alumni and alumni parents for returning to experience this beloved tradition once again.
It was an unforgettable event, and a beautiful reminder of the creativity that thrives within our community.
