Middle School French Math - Fractales
related posts
6th graders ended their first geometry lesson of the year with drawing fractals on the playground.
Fractals are self-similar patterns, where self-similar means they are "the same from near as from far". Fractals may be exactly the same at every scale, or, they may be nearly the same at different scales.
Each group owns a 1m string and colored chalk sticks. The goal is to reproduce on the playground the following picture, made of equilateral triangles inscribed one in each other.
The biggest triangle has 1m sides. Each following triangle gets vertices on the quarter of the precedent triangle.
