INTL Laptops Get A Second Life through Dream Volunteers

At Silicon Valley International School (INTL), we believe that global citizenship is a commitment that extends beyond a single service trip. Through our long-standing partnership with Dream Volunteers, our students have built meaningful connections with communities across Central America. On several occasions, our students have contributed to the construction of a school in El Astillero, Guatemala, fostering deep relationships through hands-on work, as well as shared games and collaborative projects. These bonds inspire our students to continue making a difference long after they return home.

This year, a team of chaperones—Clara Butel, Paul Dulac, and Jean-François Merckling—who accompanied our students to El Astillero, were inspired to take this commitment further. They led an initiative to donate INTL's used laptops to Dream Volunteers for the Young Dreamers Academy in Central Guatemala.

"It's incredible to see our technology find a new purpose, empowering students who are eager to learn and grow," said Kevin Hardwick, INTL's Senior Technical Support Specialist, who prepared the laptops for donation. "This is more than just a transfer of equipment; it's a direct investment in their future."

This powerful gesture is a bridge connecting our communities and a tangible symbol of INTL’s belief that true global citizenship involves nurturing empathy and collaborating to achieve results greater than we could ever reach individually
