Join us in welcoming INTL's new teachers for the 2011-2012 school year!

FRENCH TEACHERS

Cécile F. (Pre-K French)
Cécile comes to us from a preschool in Paris. She brings 10 years of experience to INTL*, and in addition to her teaching credentials, holds a B.A. in French as a Second Language. She has taught all grade levels and is an accomplished modern dancer.

 

 

 

Méryl S. (2nd Grade French)
Méryl comes from the Paris region, where she taught at different grade levels. She holds a Masters in contemporary history, and received her teaching credentials in 2009. She has been involved in many support groups for children, and has volunteered with a variety of associations to teach illiterate adults.

 

 

Katia B. (2nd Grade French)
Katia comes from the Paris region where she has been teaching for the past 8 years. She holds a BA in Geography, and has taught at all grades of elementary school. She has volunteered for a variety of non-profit organizations, and has been a camp counselor. She is also involved in music and dance.

Léa D. (Middle School French)
Léa comes from Paris, where she taught middle school. She holds a masters in French literature, and has been involved in tutoring for children, teenagers, and adults. She spent a year and a half studying in England.

Agnès F. (5th Grade French)
Agnès comes from the Paris region where she taught for 7 years. She holds a BA in History, and has taught at all grades of elementary school. She has volunteered for a variety of non-profit organizations both in France and abroad, and was an Au Pair in Chicago 13 years ago, which has given her the desire to return to the US.

ENGLISH TEACHERS

Nicole D., (Nursery and Pre-K English)
Nicole comes to us from a preschool in Monterey that serves a diverse community of families from around the world - many children came to the school without knowing English. She attended San Francisco State University, where she earned her B.A. in Child and Adolescent Development with a concentration on young children and their families.

 

 

Cara L. (Kindergarten and Pre-K English)
Originally from the UK, Cara comes to us from a British school in Malaysia. She has taught across elementary grades and has been a leader amongst her peers, working to develop curriculum and school community. She is excited to work in the Early Years Program at INTL. She is also involved in music and dance.

 

 

 

Lauren C. (1st Grade English, French Program)
Five of Lauren's six years of teaching have been in 1st grade, and she is passionate about literacy instruction (in addition to teaching 1st grade overall!). Although she is originally from the Midwest, Lauren has international roots -- she comes to us from the Antwerp International School in Belgium.

 

 

 

Robin Y., (2nd Grade English, Chinese Program)
Robin most recently taught at the Ronald C. Wornick Jewish Day School in Foster City. She's a Nueva School alum and is passionate about teaching 2nd grade.

 

 *In 2020, the International School of the Peninsula (ISTP) formally changed its name to Silicon Valley International School (INTL) to better reflect its bilingual programs, location, and international values.
